Singapore Maternity: The Ow Young Family

In the cookie of life,
friends are the chocolate chips!

Absolutely love how photography has connected me back with friends from way back when. This gorgeous girl was one of my first friends from primary school. On my first day starting in a brand new school, in a foreign country (Singapore), this girl said ‘Hello, my name is Sophia’, and ten minutes later where we chatted happily asked me, ‘Eh, why you still haven’t told me your name yet?’ I knew then that this friend will be a keeper!

Fast forward more than 10 years later, I discovered that her then boyfriend, now husband, is also a tuition friend of mine, someone who learned the craziness of E & A Maths together with me. What a small, beautiful world we all live in!

Singapore Family: Off to Explore

there’s a whole world out there
waiting to be explored!

“Hello, what’s your name? Do you like bubbles? Let’s take some photos first, then we’ll play bubbles!” Usually this is all that is needed for kids to warm up to me.

Occasionally though, I’ll have the super shy, hide-behind-mummy little ones. If that is your kid, breathe, don’t stress! I find that if we as adults start stressing, cajoling or even threatening, the kids also become stressed, and the session wouldn’t be a good experience for everyone.

Let them be kids, we’ll sit, chat, have some cuddles, and eventually, I’ll become less of a stranger, and slowly but surely, smiles will come.

This is my second time photographing this little girl and her family. She is quite shy, but once she warms up, her smiles comes very easily, and she’s the cutest little explorer! The last time I visited the Chinese Garden must have been more than 20 years ago, it has changed so much! It now has so much activities for the kid, and also the child-at-heart to explore and engage with nature.

Singapore Family: The Khoo Family

oh the laughter…

This cheeky adventurous little boy definitely kept me on my toes during our session. I absolutely love watching little ones explore the beautiful (bugs and all) world we live in.

Maternity: Hello Bump Tan

“Our love beats stronger because of you.”

Got a last minute email to shoot an almost full-term mummy. Managed to move some things around, confirmed the session, booked my flight tix, flew, and photographed one of the most gorgeous pairs of mummy and daddy-to-be. All in a span of 2 weeks!

Elated to capture so many beautiful photos.

This pair of sisters are seriously the cutest! They laugh and play together so well. I cannot believe mummy actually said her kids were cranky during this session. If this is cranky, I reckon they would be perfectly angelic on a normal day. :)

Singapore Family: O x 2!

sometimes being a little sister
is better than being a princess!

ohmyheart!

This pair of siblings were honestly #siblinggoals. It is evident how much big O loved his little sister, and how little O completely adores her big brother!

When little O accidentally poured her bubble solution, big brother came to the rescue. He gave her some of his, even though it meant he didn’t get to play as much. I spent a short 30mins photographing this gorgeous family, and was smitten by the end of the session.

These two little girls have grown! They are such characters too! I absolutely loved hanging out with the Koons again! I first photographed them when little sister E turned one. Gardens by the Bay has always been one of the places I really wanted to photograph in.

When the Koons agreed to have their session there I was elated. Cool with ample space for the littles to run around in, the now adorable two year old E and the sweetest big sister C definitely made it special for me. Thank you Eevon and Jin for entrusting me with your family portraits again. BIG LOVE.

and this… this is easily one of my favourite laugh-out-loud moments from this session. <3

Watch them grow: 2017

Singapore Family: Calvina Dawn, EB, + ED

I scream, you scream
we all scream for ICE CREAM!

Nothing like ice-cream to make the teeny tinies happy after a super hot and humid Singaporean morning!

How the littles have grown! I last photographed Calvina Dawn’s beautiful family in 2017, and fell completely in love with her adorable twosome, EB and ED. What a difference a year makes - EB is still the fun-loving singing little miss chatter, while ED has grown into an entertaining cheeky toddler.

After our session, she left the nicest note too!

Calvina, thank you for inviting me to be a part of making memories together with you and your family. Thank you for believing and loving my art. #somuchloveforyoufour #okandmaybelouistoo. I’m so blessed by your friendship!
