The Keng Family

Love is about growing together,
learning about each other,
and not giving up.

The Kengs Malaysia Family Photographer.jpg

The Kengs annual family portrait this time, saw the cheerful little now-3-year-old miss exploring, and having a little bit of fun in the park. She was joined by her baby brother, who was really smiley, with easy chuckles. I love watching families grow, and spending time with them, picking up where we left off, and getting to know the growing little ones.

Watch them grow: 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017

Bump-to-Pop: The Khoo Family

she's a combination of sugar, spice,
sunshine and stardust.

I met Lina in church when we were both studying in Perth. She is somebody who just radiates warmth and friendship. As we were both in different universities then, we gradually lost contact as life took over. I was really glad when Liang whom I met through my then boyfriend-now-husband, brought Lina to visit our Young Adults Bible Study Fellowship class. Fast forward a few years later, it was such an honour and joy to photograph them as they grow another member. Baby E is the cutest little thing, with easy smiles, and the chubbiest cheeks.

It doesn't matter how big your house is
it matters that there is love in it.

With a ballerina for a mummy, it was no wonder this little tyke was really flexible, as he discovered his feet, when he put on shoes for the very first time. I especially loved all of baby's very cute outfits, which according to the father, Edward, was all picked out by his wife. Excellent taste!!

After the session, Edward sent me a very lovely email:

I take photos too BUT the photoshoot with you was awesome AND the photos are gorgeous. It really puts a big smile on my face each n everytime I see the photos. Best of all I'm in most of the photos this time and had great fun just chilling out with my family at the park not having to bother with camera settings n lighting! I cannot remember when was the last time I had a smile that lasted so so long, and it keeps coming back over n over again throughout the day! : ) Bless you Samantha.

Bump-to-pop: The Kos
Life reveals her beauty, one precious miracle at a time.

Every bit the expectant parents to be, the Kos were completely excited for the arrival of their little one. I couldn't help but get caught up in their glowing happiness, as they smiled and spoke in hushed tones throughout the session.

When baby K arrived, she was all big eyes and cute babbles, especially when she sees herself in the mirror (she probably thinks the baby staring back at her is a friend). She may be just a teeny tiny little human being, but she already has her parents (especially daddy) smitten and wrapped around her little fingers.

One of the most stylish families I've photographed, it was all super cool, despite the heat of the day. Baby E was all handsome smiles and chuckles. Watch out world, he is definitely going to be a heartbreaker - with his mohawk-styled hair and moustached pacifier!

A baby fills a place in your heart that you never knew was empty.

When daddy and mommy asked for a kiss, he obliged and planted a huge, long, sloppy one on their lips. When this teething chuckle bunny laughed (which was very often), he will show off his four tiny baby teeth.

Children grow up too fast, and photographs are the best way to preserve memories, especially when they celebrate their first year on earth.

One of the shyest babies I know, this just turned one-year old little girl has the cutest smile, once she came out of her shell. When she sees a stranger, her eyes would well, as her nose turns a shiny red. She was most comfortable with her parents and big brother. I was very glad that after a while, she warmed up to me and rewarded me with the most beautiful laughter.

When her very creative full-time working mommy baked her a beautiful cake for a cake smash session, she was curious, yet reserved. Dad and big brother, on the other hand, had no qualms as they decided to have a bit of fun too.

Grass, dirt, mozzies and an occasional monkey, I just had to share some images from the session I had this morning. Miriam, a friend of mine is someone who works magic with her fingers, by creating toys and stuff, from repurposed fabric/even paper (I hope I got that right). She is also one of the people behind the TTDI edible garden. It is thus normal that her gorgeous children, Little O (4 yrs) and Baby N (5 mths) are so well adjusted to nature. Halfway through the session, I had to peel grass away from Baby N's teeny tiny fingers. It was really a special morning, as I got to spend time with this family, before they fly back home.

A baby makes LOVE stronger,
the days shorter,
the nights longer,
savings smaller,
and a home HAPPIER

Kim (the cook extraordinaire at Evil Lunchr, and fabulous yummymummy blogger) and I were colleagues, right until she popped! Little L is the cutest and friendlist tyke, who is so very generous with his smiles and very easily amused.

Thank you for sharing a morning in the park with me babe xx.

And then there were 3: Keng Baby Portraits
Cuddles, kisses, snuggles and love
- that's what little girls are made of!

A lot of the clients I photograph, are mostly first time parents, adjusting to a newborn, while juggling a very busy work schedule. Pi Ying and Keng are one of the most chilled parents I've seen. I guess with both being doctors, they knew how to handle babies with the ease of someone experienced.

Pi Ying first contacted me while still doing her confinement, in her hometown of Kuala Lipis. She wanted to coincide the session with her baby's month-old vaccination. It was during the time when Pahang (together with some other states) was hit very badly with floods. We were really thankful when it receded, and the session could go on as planned.
