The humidity is a huge change especially for the little boy from Adelaide. Steph and Ming were back in KL for a short holiday, visiting family, friends and loved ones. I had so much fun blowing bubbles, singing, running, and playing with toy trains together with him.

'If you're happy and you know it, then your face will really show it!' 

This gorgeous family flew in from Sydney, for a very short visit with their family. I first photographed them when big brother was ONE. Eva first found me on google and after a few quick emails, we managed to squeeze in an hour long cake smash photo session for their smiley little tyke.

When she contacted me again for a portrait session, I got to meet her smiley, cheeky little bub number 2. Big brother E who was all cuddly in our last session, is now a handsome little man. He was also the protective big brother, who ensured that his little brother was well taken care of.

9 months preparing, to fall in love for a lifetime.

As soon as I met Xinyi, it was as if I've known her for many many years! Bubbly and with an easy laughter, she has the kind of charisma that just makes you want to be friends with her. It also helped that she shared two of my favourite things to do - travelling and food.

That bond between these two little boys, they were as thick as thieves, laughing themselves silly, all while looking so suave.

Families are like fudge
mostly sweet, with lots of nuts!

Earlier this year, on my birthday and the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, I photographed one of the largest family portraits! The Chia family rocked up with huge smiles, despite the crazy sweltering heat. I especially loved the matriarch of the family (who reminded me a lot of my own grandma), who was sometimes directing the shots too.  Large families really remind me of my own - very noisy, yet everyone can be heard - somehow.

'Oh baby, we've waited a long time for you to arrive...'⠀

The beautiful Sogawa family were completely adorable to photograph! Kohki-chan was one cool little baby, who when he smiles, becomes the cutest thing ever! One thing I love about photography is that in that short span of an hour, I feel like we've become good friends - as we swap life stories. I especially enjoyed having cups of coffee (they met as baristas in Starbucks in Tokyo) over sweet cakes at the end of our session.

Baby Kohki is Malaysian made, and as the family make plans to head back to Tokyo after 5 years here, they wanted photos to remember this brief, but love-filled chapter.

Before they flew back to Japan, they surprised me with such a sweet message - that caused me to grin from one ear to the other, and reminded me why I chose to do what I do.

In a nutshell, she said that she would only love to have me as their family photographer, to document baby's growing up years. And that if I visit Tokyo, to please get in touch with her.

The Kengs annual family portrait this time, saw the cheerful little now-3-year-old miss exploring, and having a little bit of fun in the park. She was joined by her baby brother, who was really smiley, with easy chuckles. I love watching families grow, and spending time with them, picking up where we left off, and getting to know the growing little ones.

My one big reason to be happy - YOU! 

Jonathan and Liane are very dear to me. They were the very first international wedding assignment I photographed. 3 years later... they are back with their entire family, for a short visit, with the cutest little bub in tow. It was such an absolute joy getting to know little miss K, with her very cheeky smiles, and cute coos. I was completely smitten by her. Cannot wait to meet you guys again in Perth, next year!

Buses, trains, and cars - especially Lightning McQueen, little A had me laughing as I photographed him. He also definitely kept me zooming after him. I really felt like old Mater, as I tried to catch up to his Lightning McQueen.
